1.Basic Knowledge

All the battle skill level capabilities are dependent on the job level. When the texts of the skills turn blue, it means the skill has reached the maximum capability of your current level. This is so-called "cap".
The higher your battle skill is, the more powerful and more accurate it will be.

Caps can be classified into 6 different classes (after lv61 it will be divided into more detailed classes) and it is possible to calculate the formula. When the cap does not fit into any of the classes, it means the skill belongs to your sub job, not the main job. When that is the case, you can have your sub job level inserted into the formula and calculate the cap.

Ways to raise your skill

Weapon skill
By hitting the enemies that fits your current skill level
Shield skill
By getting hit by the attacks from your front.
Parrying and guard skill
By getting hit in the front when you have your weapon taken out.
Damage dealing magic
By casting magic on the enemy that fits your current skill level.
Healing Magic, Enhancing Magic, Summoning Magic
By using the magic.
Enfeebling Magic
By casting magic to the enemies, your skill will not raise if the magic is fully resisted.
Singing and instrument
Same as enfeebling magic and healing magic
The skill will not raise if your main job does not own the skill. For example, a WAR with sub job WHM will not have his healing magic raised by casting them even it has not reached the cap yet. This is same for equipping a weapon that you do not have a skill level to it.

2.Formula

You can find your cap by using the formula below. Notice that as your level changes, the formula changes as well. Also, anything below the decimal will be automatically dropped.

The formula of LV61~70 is developed by sanjutsushi.

After level 61, some of the caps are not constant. Therefore we have the chart below that lists out all of the caps. Red numbers means they are presumed numbers.

Leave it empty and click display when you want to chek the cap clases of A~F

5.Weapon skills master Level

The levels capable of leaning different weapon skills are listed below. The charts list the level for all the job as their the skill caps reached the level required to learn certain weapon skill. However, you won't be able to learn the skill right away when you reach the level listed below unless you reach the required skill levels.

EX means the weapon skill can be used only when your main or sub job is one of the apponted jobs. SP means the same, but only when your main job is on of those appointed jobs.
